Second Homes

Connectivity for Lake and Mountain Second Homes

Cell service, outdoor Wi-Fi, a cable or a point-to-point link to the dock or the shop, and cameras you can open from your other house. Aimed at Big Canoe and the lake and mountain houses across our North Georgia service area. We walk the property before we quote.

Built for Houses You Are Not In All Week

A second home sits empty for days, then fills up for the weekend. The router in the hall does not cover the porch, the shop, or a dock down the hill. Cellular service in a hollow can be too weak for a phone call. We look at those spots on site, then tell you which of the jobs below actually fit.

Big Canoe and Lake Petit are on this map, along with Lake Allatoona, Carters Lake, Blue Ridge Lake, Lake Chatuge, Lake Nottely, and Lake Lanier. If your lake is inside our service area, ask. If it sits just outside, ask anyway. We say yes or no after we know the drive. Big Canoe is in Pickens and Dawson counties, on the same map as our Jasper work.

This page sits beside whole-home networking and Wi-Fi. The quote still waits on a walk of the house, the path to the water, and any outbuilding you care about.

None of these jobs gets a quote until we have walked the property.

Cell Phone Boosters

A cell phone booster is for a cabin with little usable cellular service. It can help the rooms inside only when there is a usable signal somewhere outside.

If the ridge blocks the tower, we will say so on the site visit. We do not quote a booster from a zip code.

Outdoor Wi-Fi

Decks, yards, and the path toward the water need access points planned for weather and distance. A router in the living room does not do that job.

We map where you actually stand: the grill, the dock path, the guest parking. Placement comes after that walk, as part of whole-home networking and Wi-Fi.

Ethernet to Docks and Outbuildings

Some spots will not hold a Wi-Fi link. A dock, a shop, a guest cabin, or a desk in a detached office may need a cable. The path, the power, and the weather exposure decide whether that run makes sense.

We look at the route before we quote it. The same kind of run is what keeps a gate camera or intercom online at the end of a long drive. Details live on the networking page.

Point-to-Point Wireless

A point-to-point wireless device carries internet from the house to a dock, shop, barn, or gate when a cable run is not practical. The two ends need a clear line of sight.

We look at that path on the site visit before we quote. Trees, a ridge, or nowhere to mount the far end can rule it out, and we will say so after we see the site.

Cameras You Can Check From Away

Cameras at the house, the drive, and the dock are only useful if you can open them from your primary home. That depends on the network at the second home, and on a signal that stays up while you are gone.

We place cameras after we see the doors, the drive, and the water side. Remote viewing is part of our security cameras work, planned with the network, not bolted on after.
